Passionate about plants since a young age, Florent Grenier is a French specialist of Namaqualand succulents. Twenty months of scientific fieldwork and naturalist exploration have accumulated since Florent’s first trip to SA at the tender age of 16, in 2008. Following a master’s degree in Evolutionary Ecology at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, the author decided to dedicate himself fully to botany, exploration, photography and popular-science. The present book is the fruit of his long-term efforts and intrepid fieldwork in the wildest corners of Namaqualand, where he continuously strives for the ultimate pollinator sighting, or to find the rarest of plants.
